Town Council Proceedings

New Officers Sworn in, Committees
Appointed and Permits
Granted
  Pursuant to adjournment taken of
July 1st, the Town Council convened
July 3rd for its regular monthly
meeting.
  The officers elected at the munici-
pal election, June 4th, C. J. Powell,
mayor, S. B. Montgomery, David
Shear and C. O. Wolford, members
of council, were sworn in.
  A. L. Marble was granted a per-
mit to repair frame building at rear
of old Parker Hotel; W. L. Ebert to
hang sign at 5 and 10c Store; Mrs.
Thomas G. Long to repair and re-
model dwelling.
  The mayor appointed the follow-
ing standing committees for the en-
suing year:
  Water-—John L. Lehman, H. T.
Sanders, Arlo R. Haines.
  Street—H.T. Sanders, David Shear,
J. Brady Thompson.
  0rdinance-—-John L. Lehman, Dav-
vid Shear, H. T. Sanders.
  Finance—J. Brady Thompson. S.
B. Montgomery, Arlo R. Haines.
  Sanitation—C. O. Wolford, S. B.
Montgomery, John L. Lehman.
  The committee on street lighting
recommended that the system re-
main as at present except that the
light at Walker's Fruit Stand and
the one at Linthicum’s Shoe Repair
Shop be discontinued.
  Council directed the mayor to take
up with Mrs. Louwilla C. Fellers the
matter of removing front porch from
old Parker Hotel and laying of side
walk along said property.
  John L. Lehman was appointed
Sergeant for the ensuing year at a
salary of $75.00 per month.
  Business not being completed the
meeting was adjourned to Monday,
July 15th, at 8 p. m.
