Dear Esther, Partial Index

Dear Esther: the Civil War letters of Private Aungier Dobbs, Centerville, Pennsylvania ... by Aungier Dobbs, Ralph Haas and Philip Ensley; Publisher: Closson Press, Apollo, Pa., 1991 deals with the Ringgold Cavalry of Pennsylvania which was one of the main Union units operating in Hampshire County during the Civil War. After the War they participated in several reunions with their former enemies.

Unfortunately, the editor of the journal did not index the place names within the book; only people's names are indexed. Therefore we present here an unfinished project to index the Hampshire County place names, military units and other things. Note: not all place names are indexed if they are known to be outside of Hampshire County. Unfortunately, due to the obsolescence of software and constraints of time this project may never progress beyond page 132. We regret that. If any reader wishes to submit a complete index, we would be happy to post it here.

Note: up to page 132 only
