Boundary Maps of Hampshire County

The original boundary of Hampshire County when it was formed on May 1, 1754 out of Frederick County.

The location of the Northern Neck Proprietary boundary (Lord Fairfax's domain) was the original southern boundary of Hampshire County.

The Hampshire-Hardy County adjoining boundary was not settled until 1787.

By 1820 Hampshire County was reduced to cover only its present area and that of Mineral County.

At the end of the Civil War Mineral County was established and with the exception of the exchange of Mill Creek District, the final size of Hampshire County was set.
