FamilySearch.org - County Records online
To save you from having to travel to the Courthouse in Romney, we provide a link to familysearch.org which has a very good collection of Hampshire County records available online as well as listings for some books. This is a service provided by the Mormon Church and is free to use with only a simple registration required. The images of documents are very clear having been made from original microfilm scans a number or years ago; they are also digitally improved. The web site lists what is available at the Church's Family History Centers; much relating to official county documents including deeds and some court records are freely available online. You would do well to check this resource before making a trip to Romney: FamilySearch.org
