*Hampshire Review, July 4, 1894 Joseph Short died at his home on North River Wednesday last, and his remains were taken to Kump's grave yard at North River Mills. Mr. Short leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss. (as quoted in Hampshire History, May 2006, page 11)
