BARNES-BLUE FAMILY CEMETERY, near Three Churches, WV.

Lat:3921.767N; Lon:07841.292W; Elev:(?)ft.

This cemetery is located on the right-hand side of the road approximately 3.2 miles south of the Three Churches on Rt. 5 (Jersey Mountain Road).

I was told by a member of the Branch Mountain United Methodist Church that this was the Barnes Cemetery. I'm not sure if the cemetery is named for the people that own the propery or the names of the people who rest under the field stones.

  • Deliah Blue.
  • William Blue.
  • Mary E. Blue
  • Ruhama V. Barnes.
  • Richard Blue.
  • Romand Blue.
The above 5 names are on the same stone with the following at the top: "In Loving Memory of Our Mother & Children". At the bottom is: "Wife & Children of John P. Blue".

  • H. Blue: died Jun 29, 1838; "June the 29th - H. Blue departed this life".
  • 25 or so field stones, no names or dates.
